On May 12, 2005 opening ceremonies included the parade of classrooms into the Gym where some students commenced with the singing of a Manitoba song.  The Principal, Arlene Billeck, welcomed all the students, teachers and distinguished guests which included Jon Gerard, leader of the Liberal Party and Bonnie Korzeniowski, M.L.A. --St. James.  The ceremony ended with an exciting cultural dance and then the students enjoyed a day of many diverse sessions, learning about the Province's rich history.

A special thank you to all the parent volunteers who provided an amazing lunch and provided light refreshments throughout the day.

75th Anniversary!

Glenelm Elementary students enjoyed watching mason Tony Bergagnini finish laying the school's 1929 cornerstone, which holds inside a time capsule that won't see daylight until the school's 100th anniversary in 2030.  Included in the time capsule are invitations to the recent 75th anniversary celebrations, letters that children wrote the themselves in the future, a set of 2005 coins and even a copy of the Herald newspaper.

The Open House was very appropriately launched on Manitoba Day, May 12th, 2005 at Glenelm School at 96 Carmen Avenue.
