The Caron House
50 Cass Street
Built in 1901, on the site of their old home, this brick
dwelling belonged to the George Caron family. In 1907 George
Caron was appointed Provincial Inspector of Public Institutions,
which included those institutions in Selkirk, Portage and
Brandon.
The House is a good example of a turn of the century brick
farmhouse. The house is the last identifiable element of the
early Charleswood settlement, and has been restored by the
Charleswood Historical Society.
