Anverse Apartments
785 McMillan Avenue

Built for the Belgo-Canadian Real Estate Co. in 1912, for a cost $110 000, the Anverse Apartments is a three storey block identifiable as Tudor in design. The block is O shaped and surrounds a central courtyard, and contains such interior features as oak wood framing and leaded glass windows. In addition to balconies, each suite has a set of stairs leading into the courtyard.
The building was designed by Charles S. Bridgman and built by the Claydon Brothers, a long standing Winnipeg contract firm. In addition to many apartment buildings Bridgman also designed such buildings as St. Lukes Anglican Church and Dawson-Richardson Publishing Co.
The Belgo-Canadian Real Estate Co. continued to own the block until 1970, and changed hands twice before being converted into condominiums.
